Works-in-Progress Month!!!

Monday, November 5th, 2007

This month at the Sounds Familyre blog is ‘Works-in-Progress Month’! We’ll be following the creative endeavors of some of our Familyre Artists and Friends, from start to finish. It will be an invitation “into the workshop” as it were, a unique peek into the creative processes of some very unique artists. Each Monday morning, the blog will feature pictures and sound-clips of all work accomplished the week prior. You’ll get to see things develop from raw, untamed musings to completed pieces exploring the beauty, pathos, and humor of everyday (and not-so-everyday) existence; pieces ripe with social-commentary, poignancy, action, and adventure. Something for the whole family!

Click here to see last-month’s posts and to secure front-row seats to ‘Works-in-Progress Month’! Also, the blog now has an RSS feed, so that you will be notified as soon as anything new is posted (just go to the sidebar on the blog page to sign up).

Enjoy!

T-Shirt Testimonials

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

"I just couldn’t get anything done.  I’d roll out of bed every afternoon at like, I don’t know…2:30? 3:00?  I was too uninspired to get up.  I couldn’t eat, and I certainly couldn’t paint.  All the ideas, they were just…stuck.  I’d put my paintbrush to the canvas and just stand there, paralyzed, for like an hour.  Then, someone bought me a Danielson Necklace T-Shirt, and it was like the fog started lifting.  Not all at once, but real gradual.  Now I’m up every morning at 6:30 and painting by 7:00 AM!  I’ve never had three weeks in a row where I’ve worked so consistently!  I even got a call to do a gallery show next month.  Thanks, Danielson Necklace T-Shirt!"

"My name is Sadie Scrapin, and I’m a reckless driver.  I’ve been driving recklessly for fourteen years.  I didn’t realize that a fender-bender every other month was unusual…not until recently.  I realize the scope of my problem now.  Once the enormity of all those accidents set in (no one was ever hurt–just a lot of crunched car doors and smashed taillights), I felt the need to make amends.   But how?  How can a person track down every single person that they’ve ever crashed into?  So, I decided to take Danielson’s advice and say my apologies creatively through the ‘Did I Step On Your Trumpet’ apology campaign.  Because of the fact that this logo is on a shirt, I can wear my apology, so that whenever anyone that I’ve crashed into, or that I’m GOING to crash into, sees me, the apology is there.  I’ve actually got seven of these shirts: one for each day of the week…just to be safe.  I’ve learned my lesson."

"I love my family.  They’re wonderful.  They really are, but they…we…are not morning people.  The kids are grumpy, my wife is grumpy, I’m grumpy, even our pet rabbit is grumpy.  Compelled by the conviction that there MUST be a different way to start off the morning, I started doing research as to what might help.  I started reading psychology journals, books, going to support groups, anything.  Nothing seemed to be helping.  Then one morning on my way in to work I noticed the happiest, most carefree person strolling down the street.  They were smiling.  They were whistling.  What do they have that I don’t, I thought.  That’s when I noticed they were wearing a Danielson Hartz shirt.  That’s it!  I thought!  That’s the answer!  I bought five, one for each of us with the women’s extra-small for the rabbit.  The package with the shirts arrived in the mail, and that night we all wore them to bed.  The next morning was like the dawning of a new era.  "Honey, can I make you some coffee?"  "Hey sis, how’d you sleep last  night? Well, I hope!"  "What a beautiful morning!"  "Man, I love school!  I can’t wait to take my science test!"  All I can say is thank you.  Thank you, Danielson for making Danielson Hartz T-Shirts.  They’ve made all the difference."
- Joshua Stamper – Collingswood, NJ
